The 2013 Cabo 44 Hardtop Express is a fiberglass sportfish built around a Michael Peters-designed hull, powered by twin Caterpillar 1015 hp diesel engines. With 536 original hours logged, the engines and generator were serviced in October 2025. The boat cruises at 30-32 knots and reaches 34 knots at speed.
The hardtop design distinguishes this model with a three-sided enclosure that improves weather protection, visibility, and helm comfort. The integrated hardtop is paired with a cockpit purpose-built for serious fishing: insulated fishboxes with in-line macerators molded into the sole, a tackle center with rod storage, bait tank placement, and mezzanine seating for observing the spread. Full-length piano hinges and rubber gaskets seal the fishboxes to preserve catch.
Below deck, the interior provides comfortable accommodations in a single-stateroom layout. The master stateroom is forward, with a shared head adjacent. The aft galley runs the full length with easy appliance access and opens generously into the main living area. Additional storage and work surfaces serve both fishing and cruising needs.
Onboard systems include bow and stern thrusters with remote operation, a Freedom lift tender system, and a cockpit freezer. Recent upgrades include a 2024 Starlink system, 2024 Furuno electronics suite with three touch screens and autopilot, a new stereo with remote, and a new Garmin VHF radio.
