The 2013 Contender 21 Open is a compact sportfisher built on a 24.5-degree deadrise hull designed to handle rough seas. Power comes from a single 250 hp Yamaha engine paired with a 90-gallon fuel tank, keeping the boat efficient and range-conscious for day trips and light offshore work.

The open cockpit layout maximizes space for fishing, with a 30-gallon live well integrated into the design. The console is sized to accommodate modern electronics, and a removable transom gate provides easy access to the integral swim platform. Forward amenities include a recessed bow rail and anchor locker.

Construction follows Contender's fiberglass methods throughout the fleet. The boat is straightforward to maintain and trailerable, making it practical for owners who want flexibility in storage and launching.
