2013 MJM 40z Downeast
About This Yacht
This 2013 MJM 40z is a 40-foot downeast cruiser built around precision boat handling. Twin Volvo Penta diesel engines with 740 horsepower power the IPS pod drive system, which defines the boat's core appeal: at idle speeds, the independent pod drives and joystick control deliver the maneuverability of a boat half its size. Each pod operates independently for direction, throttle, and gear selection, providing intuitive control without separate thrusters.
The boat has been maintained continuously by the same yard since delivery and shows the benefits of single-ownership care. Engine hours stand at only 230, and the boat was stored indoors when not in use. The fiberglass hull measures 40 feet in length with a 12-foot beam, suitable for extended cruising along the coast. The IPS technology eliminates the complexity of conventional twin-shaft drives, offering fingertip command through the joystick for docking and maneuvering.
