The 2013 Sabre 48 Salon Express is a performance-oriented downeast yacht built on a modern vee-hull design. Twin Cummins 500hp diesel engines with Zeus pod drives deliver substantial power, with the motors showing only 1,167 hours of operation. The Zeus system includes joystick control for precise maneuvering and station-keeping capability. An 11kw Cummins Onan generator powers onboard systems, with 2,218 hours logged.
Navigation and entertainment systems include two Garmin GPS Map 7215 units and a Fusion radio. The galley is outfitted with a Cuisinart microwave and Vitrifrigo refrigerator. A Splendide washer and dryer combo, Beam built-in vacuum cleaner, and trim tabs round out the equipment list. The aft deck features a SureShade for sun protection. Teak flooring in the salon has been replaced.
The interior layout combines a raised cockpit sole with the main salon, where comfortable seating flows into a raised settee to port of the helm. Two cabins and two heads provide accommodation below deck, with a dedicated mechanical space forward of the engine room. A side deck door improves access between cabin and exterior spaces.
The design balances traditional styling with contemporary performance. The hull operates comfortably at 27 knots and achieves over 32 knots at full throttle while remaining notably quiet—below 75 decibels at cruise speed.
