This 2014 Black Pepper CODE 1 is a 39-foot racing cruiser built entirely in carbon composite by the French builder. The hull features a modern design paired with classic superstructure, marked by clean coachroof lines and teak throughout. The boat is equipped with a retractable keel offering draft adjustment between 1.25 and 3 metres, water ballast tanks, and a boom-rigged performance racing package. A Lombardini diesel engine of 47 horsepower provides auxiliary power.
The yacht accommodates three cabins with eight berths and one head. The interior follows the builder's minimalist aesthetic, with new cabin upholstery and anti-roll separation panels fitted to the aft berths. LED cabin lighting is installed throughout. The generous flush cockpit easily manages crew movement and sail handling, while ballast transfer is engineered for quick tacking manoeuvres.
Deck equipment includes six Spinlock XX and sixteen Spinlock XTS cleats, four Harken Performa winches, and an electric windlass. The carbon mast and boom are rigged with standing rigging in rod and running rigging in Dyneema with cover. A full inventory of sails is aboard, including racing and cruising mainsails, genoas, Code 0 and Code 5 drifters, and three asymmetric spinnakers. Electronics comprise B&G navigation and autopilot systems with four B&G repeaters, VHF, AIS transceiver, and EPIRB.
Recent work included a complete deck restoration with full teak refinishing, new hull paint, new halyards, new electrical and audio systems, and overhaul of the retractable keel including sandblasting and treatment of the cast iron portion. The yacht carries ocean-going safety equipment including life raft, two safety lines, horseshoe buoy, and twelve fenders.
