2014 Marsaudon Composites ORC 42

The ORC 42 is a high-performance offshore cruising catamaran built by Marsaudon Composites and designed by Christophe Barreau. Her construction emphasizes lightweight efficiency paired with serious seagoing capability. The boat features a carbon rig, retractable daggerboards, and a performance-oriented sail plan that deliver responsive and rewarding sailing characteristics across varying conditions.

Below deck, the catamaran offers four cabins and two heads arranged for comfortable cruising. Twin Yanmar diesel engines, each producing 60 horsepower, provide reliable propulsion with a cruising speed of 5 knots and maximum speed of 7 knots. Navigation is managed by a combined Raymarine and NKE suite designed for offshore confidence and precision routing.

The boat's systems reflect a focus on self-sufficiency and reliability at sea. Solar generation feeds into a Victron-supported electrical system, while a high-output watermaker produces 200 liters per hour. Starlink connectivity is installed for communication offshore. The sail inventory was renewed in 2021 with Hydranet sails, supplemented by additional performance options to extend versatility across different wind and sea states. Throughout her ownership, the boat has been continuously maintained and refined as an operational offshore platform.
