The 2014 MJM 36z is a downeast-style yacht built on a composite hull of E-glass and Kevlar with foam core construction. Twin Yanmar diesel engines produce 520 horsepower and drive the boat to a maximum speed of 32 knots, with a cruising speed of 27 knots. At 22 knots the fuel consumption is reported at 14 gallons per hour. The boat stretches 36 feet with an 11-foot beam and features a walk-through transom, boarding doors on the port and starboard sides, and a teak cockpit and helm deck.
The cabin includes one head and accommodations for cruising. The galley and saloon have large tinted opening ports with screens and pull-down shades. An aft cockpit with bimini top and boot provides outdoor seating, and a swim platform with hot and cold shower access completes the stern layout. Teak decking spans the cockpit and helm areas, with stainless steel railings and grab hardware throughout.
Navigation and control systems include a Raymarine e125 hybrid multifunction display, p70R autopilot, HD radar, and VHF with AIS. A joystick control system operates the engines, and a FLIR thermal camera is installed. A Northern Lights 5kw genset supplies shore power when at anchor. The hull carries a majestic blue Awlcraft 2000 finish with protective clear coats, and the boat comes equipped with everything needed for extended cruising.
Recent service work includes outdrive servicing, cooler and heat exchanger cleaning and pressure testing, and a full survey in spring 2026. The hull and structural systems were built to exceed Ocean Category A standards.
