2014 Newton 31 Dive Special

The 2014 Newton 31 Dive Special is a fiberglass explorer built to ABS specifications and purpose-built for diving operations. Its single Cummins QSB 6.7 diesel engine produces 355 horsepower, delivering cruising speeds around 21.7 knots and a maximum speed of 23.5 knots while consuming approximately 14 gallons per hour. The shallow draft of 2 feet 6 inches loaded enhances maneuverability in varied waters.

The boat's layout prioritizes dive operations, featuring an open transom and well-arranged deck that facilitate easy diver deployment and retrieval. A quality ladder extends deeply into the water at a comfortable angle for exits. The Newton custom tank racks secure 20 cylinders on aluminum seats with integrated under-seat storage. The single cabin and head provide basic accommodation for the crew.

Recent systems upgrades completed in 2025 include new Ray Marine electronics with 12- and 9-inch multifunction displays, a Quantum 18-inch Q24 radar, and a new EPIRB. The propeller was reworked in 2025, and new PFDs were installed—9 adult and 2 youth offshore lifejackets plus a throw ring. Before the original owner sold the boat, it was returned to Newton for detailed maintenance and paint work as needed. Bottom paint is approximately 9 months old. A low-mileage three-axle trailer is included.
