This 2014 Ocean Pointer is a 19-foot center console built to a David Stimson design, featuring a modified inboard layout with a Kubota diesel engine. The boat was hand-crafted on Vancouver Island using strip-planked cedar over plywood semi-bulkheads, with a mahogany backbone and stringers bonded with West Epoxy. Silicon bronze fasteners throughout and a mahogany rub rail ensure durability. The hull is finished in Endura tinted to Kirby Green Gray, while the deck and cockpit are finished in Endurance tinted to Moon Dust, with non-skid in Castle Tan.
The 33.5 hp Kubota V1500 diesel four-cylinder powers the boat through a Hurth ZF 25A gearbox fitted with a trolling valve. Steering is hydraulic via a Cobalt helm with bronze wheel, and engine controls are Cobalt-equipped. The propeller is a ZF 14-inch bronze three-blade. The self-bailing cockpit has 900 pounds of foam flotation and sits on marine plywood decked in Vectra fabric and epoxy, with varnished mahogany trim throughout.
Electronics include a Garmin GSD22 chart plotter, Garmin 3005C depth sounder, iCOM IC-M504 VHF radio with digital antenna, Standard Horizon handheld VHF, and an AIS Digital AIT1000 transponder. The boat comes equipped with a Fortress anchor and small folding grapple with rode and chain, along with a bronze and mahogany pike pole, laminated custom wood oar, laminated custom fish net, and a bimini cover. A single-axle trailer with electric and hydraulic brakes is included.
