The 2015 Cobia 296 Center Console is a 29-foot fishing boat built on a fiberglass hull and powered by twin 600-horsepower Yamaha engines. Introduced as Cobia's flagship model, the 296 combines a level deck layout with high freeboard to deliver secure footing and an unusually deep cockpit for a boat of this size. Recessed bow rails run back to the helm, and split forward seats make navigation around the bow area straightforward.
The helm features drop-down bolsters on both seats, with dash space for two large video displays. A deluxe hardtop includes outriggers, an electronics box, and three rod holders on each aft leg. The boat is outfitted for serious fishing, with two 28-gallon recirculating live wells in the transom, large in-deck fish boxes set into the cockpit sole, a leaning post with tackle storage, eight gunnel rod holders, and under-gunnel rod storage. Additional fishing amenities include a fold-out transom seat, cockpit coaming pads, and pull-up cleats.
The step-down head compartment features forward entry and includes an electric head, two opening ports, a sink, and a hand-held shower. Trim tabs, fresh water and raw water washdowns round out the standard equipment.
