This 2015 Custom Chantier des Ileaux X.0 is a wooden sailing yacht with a retractable keel design. Built using strip-planked mahogany and epoxy for the hull bottom with marine plywood and epoxy for the topsides, cabin roof, cockpit, frames, and stringers, the structure is reinforced with fiberglass and epoxy lamination on the bottom, exterior, and high-stress areas. The lead keel features fiberglass and epoxy lamination and retracts via hydraulic ram with manual pump and safety lock. The rudder is a NACA profile design, also laminated in fiberglass and epoxy, with vertical retraction.
The rig is substantial and modern. An AG+ Spars carbon mast carries Harken rail and carriage systems with four Harken winches. Sail inventory includes black Kevlar mainsail and jib, a triradial nylon asymmetric spinnaker, and a Stormlite Code 0. Sail areas are 33 m² on the wind, 50 m² for the asymmetric spinnaker, and 22 m² for the Code 0. In 2023, the yacht was equipped with a Torqeedo Cruiser 3.0 FP electric motor.
The hull will require cosmetic restoration work and gelcoat repair. The boat is currently stored under cover at a shipyard facility.
