2015 J Boats J/122

The J/122 is a 40-foot racing and cruising sailboat built in 2015 by J Composites France. She carries a lightweight carbon mast paired with a carbon boom fitted later for weight savings and performance gains. The fiberglass hull displaces 7,500 kg and draws 2.2 meters, with a lead keel. A single-owner boat with proven offshore capability, she has crossed from Mumbai to Langkawi and raced extensively throughout Asia.

Below decks, the layout includes a front cabin with a large double berth, storage, closet, and desk; an aft cabin with double berth and hanging locker; a saloon with convertible bench seating and extending table; a full head with shower and hot water; and a U-shaped galley to starboard with a gimballed gas stove, oven, double sink, and 150-liter refrigerator with freezer. The saloon and aft cabin each have direct access from the companionway, and there are heads accessed from both the saloon and front cabin.

A 40-horsepower Volvo Penta diesel engine provides auxiliary power, with new prop blades fitted recently. The electrical system runs on Mastervolt lithium battery banks with full system integration, new running rigging throughout, and 400-watt solar panels on the bimini. Navigation equipment includes a B&G NS7 plotter, Simrad VHF, NAIS AIS transponder, and dual instrument systems with wind vane and autopilot.

The sail inventory is substantial: Doyle delivery and racing jibs and mains, three A2 gennakers, an A0/A3 reaching gennaker, and a Code 0. Six Harken winches across the deck provide sail handling power. A 2025 major refit included new running rigging, engine service, and fresh antifoul applied in November. Safety equipment includes an EPIRB, life raft, and ten lifejackets.
