2015 Outremer 5X

The Outremer 5X is the builder's flagship catamaran, designed by the renowned VPLP naval architecture firm and built to excel in offshore cruising. This 2015 example combines advanced composite construction with structural carbon elements—rotating carbon mast, carbon roof, carbon bimini, and carbon structural bulkheads—delivering both lightweight performance and rigidity. The design philosophy centers on high-speed passage-making capability paired with genuine comfort for extended time at sea.

The rig has been recently optimized with a set of Incidence sails installed in 2024, complemented by replaced loops that same year to ensure peak efficiency. Navigation is supported by a complete B&G electronics package, and the autopilot motor was replaced in 2024. Power comes from twin 150 hp Volvo Penta diesel engines. Energy independence is addressed through 800 watts of solar panels and a Watt&Sea Race hydroelectric generator, enabling self-sufficient cruising with minimal noise.

The boat carries a recent 2024 tender for dinghy operations and anchorage exploration. The cockpit and helm station reflect Outremer's emphasis on functional, secure, and effective sailing design. Over its operational history, the yacht has been actively used for extended cruising and has benefited from systematic improvements including the recent sail upgrade, rigging updates, autopilot service, and energy system enhancements.
