The Protector 30 is a center console built on a fiberglass hull designed to handle variable sea conditions. Powered by twin Yamaha outboards totaling 500 horsepower, the boat reaches speeds exceeding 60 mph. The hull was redesigned from the Targa 30 platform to accommodate modern, heavier outboard engines and has become Protector's best-selling center console model.
The layout includes a large anchor locker with automated underbow anchoring capability, a luxury rear bench seat, and six additional square feet of aft deck compared to the 28-foot model, making boarding easier. A stowable picnic table is available as an option. The boat functions well as a tender, coach boat, or day boat.
Electronics and audio equipment include a Garmin 7608 GPS touchscreen display with GMR 24XD radome, thru-hull transducer, WAAS antenna, Garmin 200 VHF radio, and Fusion Marine stereo with four JL Audio speakers. Navigation and onboard conveniences feature an Edson comfort-grip steering wheel, Maxwell 520 windlass controller, and battery charger. Three new AGM Group 27 batteries were installed in 2025. The boat includes matching black Sunbrella covers for the rear bench seats, leaning post, and console, plus two custom fenders.
A Hosking trailer, never used in water, is included. The boat has been in heated indoor winter storage and was first titled in September 2018. Isinglass clears are fitted to the windshield.
