The 2015 Tartan 4000 is a 40-foot fiberglass sailing yacht built around advanced cruising performance and traditional craftsmanship. Her construction features an infused BPA epoxy composite hull and deck, carbon fiber mast and boom, and a low center of gravity bulb keel. A 55-horsepower Volvo diesel engine provides auxiliary power. The design incorporates Tartan's Cruise Control Rig and extensive deck hardware including wide side decks with molded bulwarks and solid teak caprail, stainless steel handrails running the length of the housetop, and comprehensive ventilation through opening portlights, deck hatches, and four dorade ventilators with stainless guards.
The interior showcases handcrafted solid cherry cabinetry throughout, with a varnished cherry cabin sole. The forward cabin serves as the owner's stateroom, appointed with tongue and groove cherry hull sealings, extensive cabinetry, an island berth, and an ensuite head with shower stall. The main cabin functions as the social hub with comfortable sofa seating, drop leaf table, and furniture grade cabinets. A galley with optimized storage, extensive counter space, top and front access icebox, and marine appliances is positioned for efficient cooking. The nav station consolidates on-board systems control with integrated electrical and navigation equipment.
The cockpit features a twin wheel layout with stowable teak table and contoured seating. The aft section can be arranged as either a single cabin with large storage access or a split two-cabin configuration. A hinged boarding and swim platform provides easy water access. One head is installed on the yacht.
