This 2015 Van Dam 35 is a custom-built classic runabout styled after the Limousine designs of the 1920s and 30s. Hand-selected planking from single logs is fitted throughout the hull, emphasizing Van Dam's traditional joinery and craftsmanship. The boat combines period aesthetics with modern functionality, featuring a limousine-style hardtop with 6'2" of standing headroom and sheltered cabin space designed for both cruising and dockside entertaining.
Twin Ilmor 5.7L MV8 gasoline engines deliver 640 total horsepower, with only 417 hours on the powerplants. A Vetus bow thruster aids maneuvering. The boat reaches speeds of 46 knots and was built specifically for the cool-weather conditions of the Great Lakes and Lake Geneva.
The enclosed cabin incorporates thoughtful use of space, including a wet bar, refrigerator, icebox, and coffee maker alongside a head and V-berth for overnight accommodation. A premium sound system is integrated discreetly throughout. Sliding cockpit windows and a large flush foredeck hatch provide ventilation whether underway or at anchor. Garmin GPSMap 741 electronics appear in the cockpit and cabin, complemented by ambient lighting.
The fiberglass hull measures 35 feet 6 inches long with an 8-foot 3-inch beam. This is one of three sister-ships built in this classic limousine style and represents a rare expression of contemporary Van Dam craftsmanship rooted in traditional runabout design.
