The 2016 Aquila 44 is a fiberglass power catamaran built for comfortable cruising and extended time aboard. Twin Volvo Penta D4-300 diesel engines produce 600 horsepower combined, delivering a cruising speed of 14.77 knots and a maximum speed of 19.99 knots. The engines have logged only 250 hours. The yacht measures 44 feet in length with a 21.5-foot beam, and its catamaran hull form provides exceptional stability and interior space.
The accommodations include three spacious cabins and three heads. The full-beam master stateroom features a centerline king berth with storage, a private head with separate shower stall, teak grating, and multiple hanging lockers. Two additional mirrored staterooms in the port and starboard hulls each have pullman-style double berths with large fixed windows. The forward starboard head includes stacked washer and dryer units. The main salon offers 360-degree panoramic views, a U-shaped convertible dinette, and storage with a flat-screen television. The galley features a stainless double sink, smooth-top double range, Isotherm drawer-style refrigerator and freezer, Corian counters and backsplash, microwave, and ample cabinetry.
The flybridge has a hardtop, central steering station with full electronics, bench and beach seating, a U-shaped dinette, and an outdoor kitchen with electric grill and wet bar. The cockpit includes a cantilevered U-shaped dinette, stainless fixed bar stools, a sun canopy, hinged doors to swim platforms, and factory crane davits for the included 10-foot fiberglass dinghy with 20-horsepower Yamaha engine. Full walk-around side decks and gradual stairs to the flybridge provide circulation throughout.
Electronics include a Raymarine Axiom 12-inch display, color radar, VHF, hydraulic autopilot, AIS, video camera for the stern, and wireless vessel control. The yacht is equipped with a Fischer Panda 12-kilowatt generator, Webasto whole-vessel air conditioning, 12-volt windlass with 300 feet of chain and delta anchor, 12-volt LED underwater lights, fresh water flush system for engine longevity, and an auxiliary 95-gallon fuel tank. Bottom paint was applied in September 2024, with recent service including fluid changes and shaft seal replacement.
