The 2016 Bavaria Vision 46 is a fiberglass sailing yacht built to high standards with a solid hand-laid hull, cored deck, and glassed-in bulkheads for structural rigidity. Designed by Bruce Farr, the boat features a 46-foot length with a 13.75-foot beam, powered by a single 74 hp Volvo Penta diesel engine. The rigging includes a 64-foot ICW mast and 5.5-foot shoal keel, suited for Great Lakes and Intracoastal Waterway cruising. A bow thruster with remote control supports easy single-handed docking and maneuvering.
The interior prioritizes comfort and accessibility with a 7-foot-2-inch cabin height, rounded padded panels throughout, and abundant natural light from 14 opening hatches and port lights. Two cabins sleep six: the master forward and a VIP cabin aft with convertible twin or king bed options. The main salon features an electric table that lowers to create a queen berth, while the navigation station converts to a settee. The galley sits offset to the companionway and includes a centerline sink. A large garage accessible from the cockpit and walk-in shower stores cushions, tools, spares, folding bikes, and extra canvas.
The boat spent its life in fresh water on the Great Lakes, maintained in heated storage and sailed extensively under a complete sail inventory that permits sailing in light winds. Engine hours are low due to frequent sailing. Electronics have been upgraded, and the battery bank was recently replaced. Teak, gelcoat, and interior finishes are in excellent condition. A 10-foot Brig dinghy with paddles, seats, and storage, plus a 3.5 hp Torqeedo electric motor with spare battery and charger, are available with the boat.
