This 2016 Bruce Roberts expedition ketch is a custom-built steel yacht designed and constructed to CAT 0 commercial offshore standards. The 54-foot hull features rolled steel plate construction with a round bilge, lead-filled keel divided into watertight compartments, and internal watertight bulkheads. A Perkins M135 diesel engine of 135 horsepower drives a MaxProp 24-inch feathering propeller, paired with a Vetus bow thruster and dual-station hydraulic steering system.
The layout below deck provides three double cabins with two en-suite heads, plus two pullman berths, alongside a spacious galley with dinette. The generous deck saloon incorporates an internal helm station and additional seating, positioned to maximize natural light and views. Four heads serve the accommodation spaces throughout the yacht.
Systems are comprehensive and robust. Power generation comes from a Mastervolt Whisper 10 Ultra generator and integrated battery management. Navigation and communication equipment includes Raymarine Axiom chart plotters with digital radar, dual VHF transceivers, MF/HF capability, Iridium sat phone, and Starlink internet. Accommodation amenities include independent fridge and freezer, a Force 10 gas range cooker, air conditioning, Eberspacher diesel heating, and electric marine toilets. Deck equipment comprises two Maxwell hydraulic anchor windlasses and a Cathelco watermaker. An Avon 310 RIB tender with lifting strops is included, fitted with a serviced Yamaha 15-horsepower outboard.
The yacht has seen active use, including commercial charter operations and extensive private cruising in the Caribbean, Norway, and Svalbard. Throughout ownership, systems and components have been replaced and upgraded as needed.
