The Atlantic 47 MastFoil is a 2016 composite catamaran built by Chris White, a 47-foot design centered around its patented MastFoil rig. This system replaces a traditional mainsail with highly efficient airfoils controlled from the cockpit, offering speed and the ability to feather for storm conditions. The design has proven itself over a decade of offshore cruising. Twin Beta Marine 38 HP diesel saildrive engines were recently installed in June 2024 and have approximately 100 hours each. The yacht is equipped with dual electronic single-lever engine controls at both the cockpit and pilothouse helms, dual ZF Micro Commander systems, and Gori bronze folding propellers with overdrive capability.
The hull, decks, bulkheads, and pilothouse are vacuum-bagged epoxy-vinylester resin and fiberglass cored with PVC foam. Carbon fiber reinforces the crossbeams. All exterior surfaces are spray-painted with Alexseal linear polyurethane in Ethereal Blue with white non-skid decking. The interior features light gray semi-gloss polyurethane, marine-grade carpet, and varnished oak tables throughout. Three cabins accommodate cruising: an aft cabin with a single berth in the port hull, a port midship cabin with a queen berth, and a starboard midship cabin with convertible single or double berths. Two heads are fitted with VacuFlush systems, pressurized hot and cold water, and separate shower compartments with automatic drain pumps.
Navigation and safety systems reflect a long-distance cruising focus. Dual Garmin multifunction displays (8622 and 8616xsv), Garmin Phantom 24X radar, and dual independent NKE Gyropilot 2 autopilots provide redundancy. The electrical system includes eight 125-watt solar panels installed in August 2023, dual Lithionics lithium ion battery banks with BMS controllers, and a Victron Phoenix 3000 inverter for AC power. A Schenker Zen 150 water maker produces 40 gallons per hour and was installed in June 2024. Ground tackle includes three anchors—a primary 88-pound Rocna, a 33-pound Rocna secondary, and a Fortress aluminum—with dual Lewmar V3 windlasses and self-bailing lockers.
Equipment is comprehensive: Harken self-tailing winches, Dyneema halyards and control lines, a SuperWind 350 wind generator, an Isotemp water heater serving both engine heat exchanger and dockside power, and a Wallas diesel stove and oven in the galley. A side-by-side refrigerator/freezer with dual Sea Frost compressors provides redundant cooling. The aft deck includes a custom awning installed in June 2024, composite dinghy davits added the same month, and drop-leaf seating that converts to an additional berth.
