The 2016 Fountaine Pajot Ipanema 58 is a 58-foot fiberglass catamaran built for extended cruising. Powered by two 220 hp Volvo diesel engines, this catamaran combines spacious accommodation with the stability and fuel efficiency of a twin-hull design.
The layout provides five separate cabins and five heads across both hulls. The owner's suite occupies one hull with its own ensuite bathroom, while the opposite hull contains three guest cabins, each with private facilities. Two additional crew cabins sit forward. The bright saloon flows directly onto an expansive cockpit dining area, creating flexible indoor-outdoor living space for both everyday cruising and entertaining.
Equipment modifications from the original factory specification include two Isotherm 24V drawer refrigerators and one matching freezer. The cockpit features partial sun shades rather than a full enclosure, and the flybridge remains open without a bimini. Power management is strengthened by four 410W solar panels and a 24V Mastervolt 550Ah house battery bank for extended autonomy. The tender is a lightweight AVB Hypalon 4.2-meter model with a Suzuki 15 hp electric-start outboard engine, replacing the original heavier tender.
