2016 Fountaine Pajot SABA 50

The SABA 50 is a 2016 Fountaine Pajot catamaran delivering comfortable cruising in a wide-beamed, well-equipped package. Nearly 50 feet long with a 26-foot beam, she draws on twin Volvo Penta D2 diesel engines of 55 horsepower each paired with folding three-blade propellers and saildrive systems. The fiberglass hulls support a full sail plan including full-battened mainsail with lazy bag and lazy jacks, UV-protected furling genoa, and spinnaker pole with gennaker gear; Lewmar electric sheet winches at the helm and manual alternatives elsewhere make sail handling straightforward.

The interior holds four cabins and five bathrooms arranged across both hulls. The port hull contains the master cabin with ensuite bathroom and shower, plus a second double cabin with its own head. The starboard hull mirrors this layout with two further double cabins, each with a bathroom. All cabins have curtains and opening ports for ventilation; cabin fans and a Webasto heating system support year-round comfort. The saloon spans the bridgedeck with LED lighting, bench seating, opening ports, and mosquito nets.

The galley is well equipped with an Isotherm 194-litre refrigerator and 90-litre freezer, four-burner Elba gas cooktop, LG microwave, Eno oven, and five-kilogram washing machine. Navigation systems include Raymarine chartplotters, autopilot with remote, radar, AIS, and VHF radio with backup station. Power comes from two 1000-amp AGM starter batteries and six 150-amp service batteries, backed by a 9.5kW Onan generator, five 465-watt solar panels mounted on an arch, and a Victron 2kW inverter. A 12-volt freshwater maker produces 100 litres per hour. Deck equipment encompasses a 1500-watt electric windlass with remote and chain counter, 25-kilogram anchor with 80 metres of chain, and a stainless steel davit with electric winch for the dinghy. The boat includes an aluminium passerella, bimini tent with enclosure kit, cockpit awnings, synthetic teak decking, underwater lighting at the stern, and a deck shower with hot and cold water.
