The 2016 Lagoon 39 is a modern cruising catamaran built with infusion-moulded fiberglass for weight efficiency and structural integrity. Designed by VPLP, the hull features vertical bevelled bows, an aft-centred mast optimised for sailing performance, and a gull-wing bridge deck that provides comfort in heavy seas. The catamaran is powered by twin Yanmar diesel engines producing 90 horsepower each, with cruising speed of 8 knots and maximum speed of 10 knots. The deck layout prioritises simplicity and safety, with broad sidedecks, recessed hatchways, and a well-protected cockpit offering a dining table to port and settee to starboard. Helm and deck access are both straightforward, and the wide crossing passage aft enhances boarding comfort.
Interior appointments reflect extensive customisation. The saloon features a convertible double berth, indirect lighting, and a removable table arrangement. Additional berths are located in the port and starboard bow compartments. The galley is equipped with an Electrolux dishwasher, microwave with grill, and a 100-litre additional refrigerator. Accommodation includes multiple heads with bidets, fresh and holding water tanks, and climate control via a Webasto diesel heater fitted in 2022 and Webasto air conditioning added in 2023.
Systems and electronics are comprehensively outfitted. Navigation includes B&G Zeus 12-inch display, VHF V50 radio, Halo 20 radar, AIS transmitter and receiver, EPIRB, and detailed chart cards. Power generation comes from 1900-watt solar panels with dual Victron MPPT controllers and a Victron Cerbo management system, supported by lithium and lead-acid battery banks totalling 1720 amp-hours and a 2200-watt external generator. A 120-litre water maker, electric toilet, ice maker, and third external freezer reflect cruising capabilities. An electric windlass with remote control and chain counter, plus manual and electrical winches, handle ground tackle. Additional systems include a water treatment unit, security camera system, GPS tracking, and shore-power remote monitoring.
Maintenance records confirm regular engine servicing at 5100 hours, with propellers renewed in 2023, blackwater hoses replaced in 2024, and antifouling and general maintenance completed in May 2024. A 12-person liferaft, full complement of safety gear, and comprehensive equipment package including dinghy with outboard are included.
