The 2016 Lagoon 39 is a fiberglass catamaran built for comfortable cruising with practical performance. Designed by Van Peteghem-Lauriot-Prevost with interiors by Nauta Design, it features a fractional sloop rig with self-tacking jib and a gullwing nacelle that improves stability and reduces slamming in rough conditions. The mast is positioned aft for better balance, and a short boom simplifies sail handling. The wide deck features an uncluttered layout with safe gangways, an electric windlass, bimini top, and sprayhood. An elevated helm station provides good visibility with all sail controls within reach.
The four-cabin layout offers two double cabins in each hull. Each cabin has its own en-suite head with shower, and there are four heads total across the boat. The saloon features panoramic 360-degree windows, U-shaped seating, and a dining table. An L-shaped galley contains a stove, oven, refrigerator, and storage. A compact navigation station holds the chart plotter and instruments. The large cockpit serves as a social area with a table, cushioned seating, and direct access to the saloon.
Power comes from two 90-horsepower Yanmar diesel engines. The boat is equipped with a Satellite Phone Iridium GO, Kannad Marine Sport PRO EPIRB and PLB, two anchors with chain and warps, and a dinghy with swim ladder. Service and engine batteries were installed in 2021—four 140-amp-hour batteries for service and two 110-amp-hour batteries for engines. Safety gear includes life jackets, liferaft, fire extinguishers, and VHF radio. Optional solar panels are available for extended cruising.
