The 2016 Lagoon 400 S2 is a 40-foot fiberglass catamaran designed for extended coastal and ocean cruising. Powered by twin Yanmar diesel engines of 78 horsepower each, the boat combines stability and efficiency with the shallow draft characteristic of multihull design. The hull employs infusion-moulding construction for weight savings and structural integrity, while VPLP design principles inform her sailing performance. A gull-wing bridge deck enhances comfort in heavier conditions, and vertical glazing maximizes interior light and headroom.
The accommodation layout includes five cabins and four heads, sleeping up to eight people in comfort. The owner's cabin is notably spacious with generous stowage, while guest cabins feature double berths that convert to twin configuration. Interior finishes include Alpi grey oak cabinetry and Milano laminate flooring throughout. The salon and cockpit share a unified level, creating a flowing entertainment and living space. Large hull windows flood the interior with natural light, while excellent ventilation reaches all areas below deck.
On deck, a rigid bimini canopy flushes with the coachroof for clean lines and sun protection. Transom platforms and safe rear deck design facilitate easy boarding and movement. The galley sits conveniently between cockpit and saloon, with engine compartments positioned far from living spaces and thoroughly insulated for noise reduction. The helm position offers direct communication with the cockpit crew.
In March 2026, a recommended water tank shelf replacement was completed. The new shelf and void areas below were sealed with gel surface coating to protect timber and eliminate soft spots and rot risk.
