This 2016 Leopard 40 is a South African-built catamaran designed by Simonis and Voogd in collaboration with Robertson and Caine. The hull features increased volume compared to earlier models while maintaining the design consistency of the current Leopard range. Twin Yanmar diesel engines of 58 horsepower each power the boat, which is built from fiberglass and measures nearly 40 feet long with a 22-foot beam.
The interior layout breaks from previous Leopard designs with a forward galley and aft-facing saloon, creating an open flow toward the aft cockpit through large sliding glass doors. The starboard hull is dedicated to owner accommodations with a queen berth aft, a separate shower stall forward, and extensive storage throughout. The port hull offers two guest staterooms with a separate head and shower stall, with accessible service areas for air conditioning and mechanical systems. Throughout, the yacht features a light blonde interior with a modern, airy aesthetic.
The aft deck includes a generous U-shaped dinette under a hardtop, with cushions custom made in Fort Lauderdale and a flip backrest that faces either direction. Steps on both sides lead to the water, and a dinghy davit system handles tender stowage. The helm station sits slightly raised on the starboard side beneath protective hardtop cover, with electric self-tailing winches and all sail lines led to this position. Forward access is provided via wide side decks or through the saloon, with a walkway to the anchor, windlass, and large deck lockers for gear storage. A cockpit shower with hot and cold water is mounted on the port side.
Recent work includes new standing rigging, a new generator, serviced engines and generator, bottom paint, and a hull buff and polish. The boat comes with all duties paid.
