2016 Mako 284 Center Console

The 2016 Mako 284 is a 28-foot center console built on a hand-laid Deep V fiberglass hull reinforced with an integrated one-piece molded stringer grid and gelcoat finish. Powered by twin Mercury 400-horsepower engines, it offers the range and performance needed for serious offshore fishing. The boat carries 228 gallons of fuel and features a wide 9-foot-10-inch beam that provides stability both underway and at anchor.

The helm station sits at the center console with a fully lined head enclosure, digital gauges, and an oversized electronics mounting surface beneath a T-top fitted with spreader lights, a fluorescent light, and five rod holders. The console features a glass windshield, grab rail, and a forward seat with an insulated and drained cooler. Seating throughout uses two-tone marine-grade vinyl upholstery with stain-resistant coating and composite substrates.

The starboard side houses a substantial bait prep station and leaning post with a 50-gallon livewell fed by a 1,650-gallon-per-hour pump backed by a 1,100-gallon-per-hour reserve pump. The station includes a removable cutting board, sink with on-demand freshwater, rod holders, and tackle storage. A wide cushioned leaning post with lockable storage and backrest completes this work area. Rod holders and storage are distributed throughout the boat.

The 284 features in-deck water channels and a redundant bilge system with dual 2,000-gallon-per-hour pumps for reliability. Electrical and plumbing layouts are designed for easy access, and the battery switch panel includes removable knobs for security.
