The 2016 MJM 50Z is a 50-foot downeast cruiser built from advanced epoxy composite construction that delivers both strength and low weight. The hull carries ISO Category A Ocean certification, the highest seaworthiness rating available, and is designed to handle severe sea states with a soft, stable ride even in rough water. Power comes from three Volvo Penta IPS 600 pods producing 1,305 horsepower combined, with cruising speed of 30 knots and a top speed of 37 knots. Fuel consumption runs approximately 30 gallons per hour at cruise.
The boat accommodates overnight cruising with two heads and full galley facilities. Interior features include a Miele washer and dryer combination, three large Garmin multifunction displays with full sensor integration including AIS, weather, radar, and camera feeds, plus Fusion satellite radio. A 12-kilowatt Northern Lights generator was recently replaced and upgraded, with only 514 hours on the new unit.
On-deck amenities include a hydraulic swim platform with integrated dinghy lift, faux teak decking, and a Skyhook station-keeping system. A Seakeeper 9 gyroscope stabilizer and FLIR night vision camera enhance capability and comfort. The boat carries a 10-foot-6-inch RIB tender with 25-horsepower Yamaha outboard, stored indoors and rigged to the swim platform system.
The Volvo pod drives and transmissions remain current on service, with full maintenance records available. The hull received an Awlgrip refinish in whisper gray in 2019. Total engine hours sit at approximately 1,430.
