2016 Seaward MY-42

The Seaward MY-42 is a 45-foot semi-displacement explorer yacht built in 2016 on the proven Nelson 42 Mk II hull form, certified for CE Category-A (Ocean) conditions. Twin Cummins QSB diesel engines producing 850 hp deliver a maximum speed of 25 knots and economic cruising at 18 knots. The fiberglass hull incorporates a central keel for protection of the stern gear, Humphree Active Ride interceptors for motion control, and a Quick MC2X zero-speed gyroscopic stabiliser. Bronze rudders, Sleipner bow and stern thrusters, and Treadmaster decking support capable offshore operation. An integral stern platform maximises hull length and improves handling characteristics.

The interior features teak joinery throughout with light satin varnish, Alcantara upholstery, and teak and carpet flooring. The owner's cabin forward provides sleeping accommodation, with a lower saloon and dinette, and a bright upper deckhouse. The galley is equipped with a GN Espace OceanChef stove, Miele microwave, Quooker boiling water system, and substantial refrigeration including twin large-capacity fridge-freezers and a dedicated wine fridge. The heads compartment contains an electric freshwater flush toilet with selectable seawater option and a powerful hot shower. Corian and Avonite countertops feature throughout.

Navigation and control systems include Raymarine twin HybridTouch screens with open-array radar, AIS transponder, wind, speed and depth instruments, and autopilot. A Cummins Onan 8 kVa diesel generator supports a Victron 8,000-watt inverter, 200-amp battery charger, and 24-volt DC distribution network with recently replaced batteries. Eberspacher diesel air heating serves the cabins, heads, and aft cockpit. A Ribeye RIB tender with Yamaha outboard and davits is included, as is a Lewmar V3 windlass with stainless anchor and chain.
