The 2016 Tartan 4000 is a 40-foot fiberglass cruising and racing sailboat built with carbon fiber mast, boom, and rudder, along with an infused epoxy composite hull and deck. Powered by a 55-horsepower Volvo Penta diesel engine, the yacht features a lead bulb keel and is equipped with a bow thruster. The custom metallic aristo blue hull is complemented by new canvas in 2025, including a Bimini top.
The two-cabin layout centers on a forward owner's stateroom with an island berth, ensuite head with stall shower, and cherry cabinetry with tongue-and-groove hull sealings. The main cabin serves as the social hub, featuring a sofa, drop leaf table, and furniture-grade storage. The galley includes a top and front-access icebox, ample counter space, and quality marine appliances. The nav station integrates the electrical system and navigation equipment for streamlined operation. An electric fresh water head serves the main cabin area.
On deck, wide side decks and molded bulwarks with solid teak caprail support safe fore-and-aft movement. The cockpit features a twin wheel layout with a hinged swim platform and a stowable teak table. Stainless steel handrails, portlights, deck hatches, and four dorade ventilators provide security and ventilation throughout. The interior showcases handcrafted cherry cabinetry and a varnished solid stock cabin sole.
Navigation and sailing systems include Raymarine GPS, radar, VHF with AIS, and autopilot with remote at the nav station. Electric Harken winches, a 100% self-tacking jib, asymmetrical UK spinnaker, 155% UK reacher, 150% UK performance headsail, and a Forespar whisker pole with mast storage mount support both cruising and racing. A Sirius XM radio and fold-down swim step complete the package. Service records are on file.
