The 2016 VanDutch 55 is a 55-foot composite cruiser built with vacuum injection techniques for strength and durability. Twin Volvo diesel engines of 900 horsepower each deliver a maximum speed of 41 knots and a cruising speed of 38 knots, with V-drive propulsion and a Volvo QL Interceptor Trim system. A 9-kilowatt Onan generator and 2,500-liter fuel capacity support extended cruising. The boat features an Easy Maneuvering System with bow and stern thrusters and joystick control for confident handling in tight spaces.
The interior includes a master cabin with a double bed, a guest cabin with two single beds, and a saloon with a convertible sofa bed. The galley is equipped with a full-size sink, induction cooker, microwave oven, and twin refrigerators. The head has an electric flush toilet, shower, and hot and cold water. Six service batteries and two engine start batteries power the systems, managed through a "One Touch" electrical control panel. Navigation and engine monitoring are handled by Simrad equipment and dual Volvo CAN Bus instruments.
The deck features eight fold-down cleats, self-draining cockpit areas, and LED floor lighting throughout. An aft sun bed with Silvertex cushions and electric high-low cockpit seats provide comfort topside. The boat is equipped with an inflatable tender, life raft, 12 automatic life vests, and an automatic fire extinguishing system. Recent maintenance includes a 1,000-hour service on engines, generator, and transmission completed in August 2025, bottom paint applied in February 2026, and AIS installation for Bahamas cruising also in February 2026.
