The 2017 Bayliner VR5 is a 20-foot fiberglass bowrider built on the marque's V-bottom runabout platform. It's powered by a single 200 hp MerCruiser engine and features a beam of 8 feet, carried forward throughout the hull via Bayliner's BeamForward design. This forward beam extension increases interior space, under-seat storage, and freeboard compared to traditional runabout proportions.
The cockpit layout emphasizes usable seating and open space. Bayliner's AftAdvantage design pushes the aft seating zone to the very end of the running surface, keeping the integrated swim platform and optional platform extension clear of the interior rather than encroaching on it. This configuration works equally well with outboard or sterndrive installations. High gunnels add to both safety and interior volume.
The self-bailing cockpit and swim platform setup make the boat suitable for family boating and water sports. Optional configurations allow customization for fishing or water sports depending on your needs.
