2017 Boreal 47

The Boreal 47 is a 47-foot aluminum sailing yacht built for serious blue-water cruising. This 2017 model combines exceptional offshore capability with thoughtful engineering across every system. The hull uses high-quality 5083 and 5086 aluminum alloy, selected for strength and the ability to be beached. The boat features a lifting centerboard keel paired with twin aft daggerboards, delivering shallow-draft access while maintaining deep-keel performance when deployed. A single 60 hp Nanni turbo diesel engine provides reliable auxiliary power.

The design emphasizes practical elegance and sea-kindliness. A raised deck saloon with 360-degree visibility serves as the navigation hub and provides shelter underway. Interior joinery is natural ash throughout. The layout prioritizes offshore passages, with leeboards installed for secure sleeping while at sea. Ample storage includes a large aft lazarette and dedicated sail locker in the bow. The windlass sits at the mast base to keep weight low and centered, while tanks, batteries, and ballast are strategically concentrated. Dual watertight crash bulkheads forward and aft add structural security.
