The 2017 Cobalt R5 is a 25-foot bowrider built on a fiberglass hull with aggressive exterior styling and bold graphics. The design balances visual presence with functional layout, featuring a walk-through transom and convertible backrest that opens to a spacious cockpit.

The interior reflects Cobalt's attention to detail in finish and usability. Wraparound seating spans the boat, with a notably wide forward passenger bench that is exclusive to Cobalt in this size class. A console door in Makassar grain vinyl opens to access a head compartment. The helm features oil-rubbed ebony Makassar trim, duotone aluminum dash panels, stainless steel switches, and five-inch digital gauges with multi-function displays, all topped with a vinyl eyebrow. The steering wheel is leather-wrapped, and the boat includes thoughtful amenities throughout: armrests, footrests, cupholders, and integrated controls positioned for comfort and accessibility.

Audio equipment includes a Rockford Fosgate stereo system. The boat runs on a single gasoline engine and is powered for responsive handling and smooth turning characteristics.
