The 2017 Fountain 38 Sportfish Cruiser is powered by triple 2024 Mercury 400V10 engines delivering 1,200 horsepower combined, with a cruising speed of 45 to 47 mph and a top speed of 68 mph. The boat rides on a new 2024 triple-axle trailer. Below deck, the cabin features 6 feet 3 inches of headroom with cherry laminate cabinetry, a galley equipped with a cook top, microwave, and stainless steel sink installed in 2024, plus a dinette that converts to a V-berth and a second double berth beneath the cockpit sole. The head includes a VacuFlush toilet and shower.
The expansive fighting cockpit is fitted with two 250-quart macerating in-sole fish boxes and two above-deck livewells, alongside a tackle center. Twin outriggers are mounted on the boat. Navigation and electronics include dual Garmin GPS 7612 units, Garmin radar, Garmin auto-pilot, and a joystick control system with new pumps installed in 2024. A Sionyx night vision camera and CM underwater lights enhance capability. The 2024 Vessel View display integrates systems monitoring.
Onboard power comes from a Westerly 7.5 kW generator, with six batteries split between motors and ship systems. Two air-conditioning units serve the cabin and exterior areas. A Fusion radio with Fusion speakers, a Seakeeper 5 gyroscopic stabilizer, and a new galley refrigerator round out the systems. An Isen glass enclosure with a partial cover is included.
