A 2017 Ice Cat 61, designed by Enrico Contreas and built by Italian manufacturer Ice Yachts. This 61-foot composite catamaran combines performance and liveaboard capability, powered by twin Volvo Penta D2-75 diesel engines with saildrive and folding propellers. The design features pure, efficient lines developed from Contreas' legendary Mattia catamarans, with a high freeboard deck that stays dry and accommodates practical cruising seamlessly into the compact 26.9-foot beam.
The yacht carries a comprehensive cruising specification. A MaxSpar carbon mast with IMOCA boom, carbon bowsprit, and gennaker inventory support the sail plan. Curved carbon daggerboards provide draft variance from 1.1 to 3.0 meters, adjusted via electric Antal winches. Navigation and communication systems include Raymarine plotter, radar, and autopilot; Sailor Fleet Broadband satellite comms; and Starlink Performance Ocean Cruising internet. Power systems feature a 1000Ah lithium battery bank, 5kW inverter, newly installed Fischer Panda 5000i generator, and 1.6kW solar panels. A Sleipner bowthruster aids maneuvering. Additional equipment includes a Schenker 210lph watermaker, reverse-cycle air conditioning, Eberspacher heating, and a carbon tender davit with 3.8-meter Highfield console tender and 20hp outboard.
The interior is arranged as four cabins—three doubles and one twin—with three heads and light oak joinery throughout. Accommodations include multiple refrigeration, Bosch dishwasher, washer/dryer, electric heads with switchable fresh and salt water, Corian counters, and Alcantara upholstery. The saloon opens directly to the cockpit, creating unified living space.
Extensive recent work has been undertaken. In 2025 and 2026, the yacht received new sails, Raymarine navigation electronics, Fischer Panda generator, Starlink system, batteries, engine seals, saildrive systems, safety equipment including liferaft and EPIRB, and refinished systems throughout. The 2024 work added solar panels and water systems; prior work from 2021–2023 included new tender and outboard.
