The 2017 Lagoon 52 S is a 52-foot fiberglass catamaran developed through collaboration between naval architects VPLP, Nauta Design, and Lagoon's design team. Its distinctive profile features diamond-shaped vertical bows, bevelled hulls, and a tall rig. The hull uses infusion-moulding construction for weight efficiency and structural integrity, with interior woodwork in Alpi® reconstituted wood. The yacht sits on a platform designed for both sailing performance and cruising comfort.
The saloon and cockpit are level with one another, creating continuous flow between interior and exterior spaces. The three-cabin layout includes three heads and generous headroom throughout, with vertical glazing positioned to manage sun exposure while maximizing light. A gull-wing bridge deck improves comfort in heavier conditions. Broad sidedecks with recessed hatches run the length of the boat, and large aft transoms ease boarding. The cockpit features an outdoor lounge and sun area to starboard, with additional sunbathing space on the cabintop.
The steering station sits on the cabintop with an integrated helm seat for two, accessible from both the cockpit and sidedeck. The lower mast and boom reduce pitching and improve accessibility. Two Yanmar diesel engines of 160 hp each power the yacht. Optional additions include a tilting composite beam to close off the steering station and a composite bimini shade structure.
