The 2017 Leopard 51 Powercat is a modern catamaran built on proven design principles, measuring just over 51 feet with a 25-foot beam. Powered by a single 370-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine, the yacht reaches speeds of 20 knots and cruises at 15 knots while delivering better fuel economy than earlier models in the range. The fiberglass hull benefits from efficient weight distribution inherent to catamaran design, offering stability and comfort underway.
The interior arranges three cabins and three heads across both hulls, with the starboard side dedicated entirely to an owner's suite. The main saloon is open and generous, flowing into a galley equipped with modern appliances. Complementing the interior are multiple outdoor spaces: a forward cockpit, additional lounging areas, and an expansive flybridge for entertaining or relaxed cruising.
Recent maintenance includes new antifouling and anodes applied in July 2024, along with propeller and shaft service and refurbishment completed at that time. Propeller nuts were replaced at the same service interval, and the hull underwent moisture testing by the shipyard.
