The 2017 Mako 284 Center Console is a 28-foot sportfishing boat built around serious offshore capability. Twin Mercury 350 Verado engines deliver 700 horsepower total, paired with a 228-gallon fuel capacity for extended range. The joystick control system simplifies maneuvering in tight situations and at the dock.
The hull is foam-injected fiberglass with a molded one-piece stringer grid, chemically bonded and mechanically fastened every six inches with stainless steel hardware throughout. Construction is fully composite—hull and deck are bonded and fastened 360 degrees. Recessed electric trim tabs are fitted as standard.
The fishing layout includes dual in-deck fishboxes rated at 390 quarts each on the port and starboard aft sections, a full baitstation with freshwater sink, and an outrigger-ready hardtop topped with five rod holders, an electronics box, and three spreader lights. The console has a full-width head room and includes interior storage, a sink, and battery switch panel. The forward console seat provides additional storage and two drink holders. Non-skid surfaces run across the walking flats, foredeck, gunwale tops, sole, stern platform, and hatch covers.
