2018 Amel 64

The Amel 64 is a bluewater cruising yacht built in 2018 by the renowned La Rochelle shipyard in France. At 64 feet with an 18-foot beam, it represents the largest model ever produced by Amel and is engineered for extended ocean voyages and remote-area cruising. The hull is fiberglass, built with vinylester resins and laminated bulkheads for rigidity and torsion-free strength. A single 180-horsepower Volvo Penta diesel engine provides propulsion.

The interior layout comprises an owner's cabin forward and two guest cabins aft, with three separate heads compartments. The accommodation spaces feature contemporary finishes in satin-finished American walnut with white padded panels. Numerous large hull ports, coachhouse windows, eight deck hatches, and seven portholes create a bright, well-lit interior with good ventilation. The deep cockpit includes a fixed doghouse with an electric sliding roof above the helm station.

The yacht carries an extensive equipment package suitable for bluewater cruising. Systems include electric in-mast furling, bow and stern thrusters, electric winches, and hydraulic gangway. Onboard power and climate systems comprise a large diesel generator, air conditioning, and diesel heating. Additional equipment includes a watermaker, complete Brooks & Gatehouse and Furuno navigation suites, and a satellite TV antenna. All sail sheets, controls, and trim systems are operable from the cockpit, and comprehensive sail systems enable single-handed operation if needed.
