WabiSabi is a third-generation Atlantic 49 MastFoil catamaran built from vacuum-bagged epoxy-vinylester resin and high-performance fiberglass cored with PVC foam, with carbon fiber reinforcement in all high-load areas. The hull is faired and finished with Alexseal linear polyurethane, and fixed glass-over-foam keels protect the propellers and rudders during beaching. The patented MastFoil rig uses rigid sails paired with self-tacking jibs, simplifying sail handling compared to conventional rigs—mainsail adjustments are controlled by touch-button, and a bowsprit with single-line furler and screacher complete the sail plan.
The boat features a forward cockpit with excellent visibility and a protected helm station, with all sailing and anchoring functions controlled from a central position. An inside pilothouse offers a second helm location with full protection and sightlines. All forward and side windows are tempered glass with custom-made blinds for UV and heat protection.
The boat cruises at 8 knots and has logged at least one 24-hour run exceeding 260 nautical miles. Two heads are installed below. She has sailed extensively, from Patagonia to Maine, and is equipped for extended ocean cruising.
