The 2018 Cobalt 220S is a 21-foot fiberglass bowrider powered by a single 280-horsepower Volvo gasoline engine. The boat's design maximizes usable space across its 8.5-foot beam, creating a layout that accommodates up to a dozen passengers and their gear without feeling cramped. The distinctive "S" seating configuration uses an oversized cockpit with a co-captain seat that flips down to create additional arena-style seating, while the helm seat faces forward in traditional fashion.

The hull features an extended running surface design that delivers responsive acceleration and handles tight, high-speed turns suitable for water sports. The boat also incorporates Cobalt's patented swim step for easy boarding and water access. An optional aluminum wakeboard arch is included, which folds for convenience when not in use.
