This 25-foot trawler is a custom composite build based on the McGowan Marine Design Loon, a purpose-driven cruiser recognized for efficiency and straightforward functionality. Powered by a single Honda 50 hp outboard, the semi-displacement hull cruises comfortably at approximately 8 knots and carries 48 gallons of fuel across four separate tanks, delivering the range and economy expected from a Great Loop-capable design. The boat measures 25 feet by 6.5 feet and is easily managed by a small crew.
Below deck, the layout balances practicality with modest comfort. A V-berth provides sleeping space, while the galley includes a two-burner Coleman stove, sink, and 4-gallon fresh water system. A Dometic portable toilet and multiple storage areas throughout the cabin sole and interior support extended cruising and anchor time. The boat also comes with additional food-grade water storage containers beyond the built-in tank.
The boat includes a Load Rite four-wheel trailer with electric brakes, making it fully trailerable and capable of accessing multiple cruising grounds. A Honda instrument display, 14-pound Danforth anchor with 150 feet of rode and 10 feet of chain, boat cover, service records, and parts book are all included. The hull has been Coast Guard inspected.
