The 2018 Dufour 412 Grand Large is a fiberglass sailing yacht built for comfortable cruising and practical performance. At just over 40 feet with a 13.78-foot beam, she combines Dufour's efficient use of space with straightforward sailing characteristics. The boat is powered by a 50 hp Volvo Penta diesel engine with fewer than 300 hours of operation.
Sailing features include in-mast furling with a dacron Elvstrom mainsail and 108% furling genoa, a gennaker for downwind work, and a German mainsheet system that allows both sails to be trimmed from a single winch in front of the helm. Twin wheels and the wide beam create a spacious, manageable cockpit. The boat carries full electronics including a 12-inch color plotter with AIS and autopilot.
The cockpit centers on a transom galley with integrated BBQ and sink, opening onto a fold-down swim platform. Convertible seating on each side converts to day-beds, while a bimini and dodger provide weather protection. The battery system was upgraded and solar panels added in 2023. Custom stainless-steel davits handle tender stowage.
Below, the three-cabin, two-head layout with oak interior offers bright, spacious accommodations. The saloon and galley feature substantial refrigeration capacity and storage. A bowsprit, larger marine toilets with aft electric head, and additional freezer come as part of the factory specification.
