The 2018 Formula 40 Performance Cruiser is built on a fiberglass hull and powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS 500 diesel engines producing 370 horsepower each. These 5.5-liter, six-cylinder common-rail engines feature turbo and supercharging, mounted aft to maximize cabin space. The forward-facing pod drives offer responsive handling with joystick control for low-speed maneuvering and docking.
The single cabin accommodates one stateroom with a full head. The galley includes a dual-burner electric stove, dual refrigerators with freezers, and an 11-gallon electric water heater. Climate control is provided by two Dometic reverse-cycle air conditioning units with digital controls. A 2000 GPH Rule bilge pump with automatic float switch handles water management.
Navigation and entertainment systems include Raymarine autopilot, hybrid-touch GPS, depthfinder, and dome radar. Communication is covered by an ICOM IC-M330 VHF radio, with audio from a Clarion stereo system. The boat is also equipped with a Kohler 8.5 kW diesel generator rated at 250 hours and a hydraulic personal watercraft lift system.
