The Fountaine Pajot SABA 50 is a 2018 cruising catamaran built from fiberglass, measuring 49 feet in length with a 28-foot beam. Twin Volvo D2 diesel engines of 110 horsepower each drive the boat, paired with folding propellers for shallow-water operation and reduced drag under sail. The shallow draft of just 3.7 feet allows access to protected anchorages and shallow cruising grounds.
The four-cabin layout includes four heads and creates an open flow between interior and exterior spaces. Accommodations feature slatted bunks, custom window treatments, an electric multi-function table, washer, and full exterior cushions and seating. The deck plan incorporates a fixed bimini, teak-look flooring, hydraulic aluminum davits, a gas barbecue, and a cockpit refrigerator.
Navigation and entertainment systems include a Raymarine package, full-batten mainsail, electric winches, autopilot, TV and HiFi antenna, WiFi amplifier, and Bose audio. Power and self-sufficiency are supported by an 11-kilowatt generator, four 100-watt solar panels, a 180-liter-per-hour watermaker, a 2000-watt converter, and an upgraded AGM battery bank. Safety equipment includes a life raft and a 1500-watt electric windlass. An 11.8-foot Highfield tender with a 20-horsepower Yamaha outboard rounds out the setup.
