The 2018 Fountaine Pajot Saona 47 is a 46-foot fiberglass catamaran built for extended cruising with a thoughtful balance of living space and sailing performance. Twin 120-horsepower Volvo Penta diesel engines deliver a cruising speed of 7 knots and a maximum speed of 9 knots. The beam of over 25 feet provides the wide, stable platform typical of the catamaran design, with excellent weight distribution and handling characteristics under sail and at anchor.
The layout offers six cabins and five heads across the twin hulls. The saloon is naturally lit and features a galley with island bench and extensive storage. The cockpit spans an extended aft platform with a 9-square-meter lounge deck, complemented by a large foredeck sunbathing area. Interior comfort systems include 68,000 BTU air conditioning, a stove and oven, refrigerator and freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine.
Navigation and sailing electronics are comprehensive. Equipment includes dual Garmin 7410 GPS chartplotters, a 2022 Garmin radar, autopilot with remote control, VHF with second handset, and AIS. The mainsail measures 828.8 square feet and the genoa 559.7 square feet, both serviced by an electric mainsail halyard winch. Power systems comprise a 12-kilowatt generator, 2000-watt inverter, and four 90–100-watt solar panels. A 2022 water maker produces 400 liters per hour and remains under warranty.
Exterior features include a synthetic teak cockpit, cockpit refrigerator and shower, cushioned seating areas, bimini, and winter and summer covers. The boat is equipped with a 25-horsepower Yamaha tender in a 3.4-meter Highfield boat, anchor with 90 meters of chain, and hydraulic platform. All systems are operational with no critical repairs needed.
