2018 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 449

The Sun Odyssey 449 is a four-cabin, two-head cruising sailboat designed by Philippe Briand with a shoal draft hull. Built from fiberglass, she carries a single 54 hp Yanmar diesel engine and has a maximum speed of 8.4 knots. The design emphasizes seaworthiness and responsive handling, with precision maneuvering across varying conditions.

The layout includes two private cabins plus a convertible salon table that serves as a double berth, offering flexible sleeping arrangements. The boat was outfitted with an extra water tank, air conditioning, cabin fans, and shades and screens fitted to all hatches and ports for enhanced comfort and climate control.

This example has been upgraded with substantial systems improvements: a 200 amp Balmer alternator, 700 watts of flexible solar panels, a LiFePO4 battery bank with a 60 amp solar charger, and a Starlink satellite antenna. A portable Dometic freezer provides additional storage capability.
