The 2018 Knysna 500 SE is a 50-foot fiberglass catamaran built for blue-water cruising. Its Owner's Version layout dedicates the entire port hull to private quarters, a defining feature of this model. Twin Yanmar diesel engines produce 114 hp each. The design emphasizes shorthanded operation and open-ocean capability, with sleek hulls engineered for both speed and seaworthiness across extended passages.

Accommodations span three cabins and three heads. The owner's cabin occupies the port hull. The main saloon is open-plan with a multimedia system and flat-screen television, while sliding glass doors merge the interior with the cockpit. The covered cockpit features a teak oval table accommodating eight. A wide transom with dive platform and swim steps provides access for water activities and tender boarding.

The boat includes a covered cockpit with integrated dining and entertaining spaces, air conditioning and fans throughout, and an extended coach roof as part of the Special Edition specification. The cabin layout incorporates spacious, naturally lit berths with double beds. An integrated dive platform marks the Special Edition's additional functionality compared to the standard model.
