2018 Mako 284 Center Console

The 2018 Mako 284 is a 28-foot center console built on a foam-injected fiberglass hull reinforced with a one-piece molded stringer grid. Twin Mercury engines deliver 500 horsepower total, reaching speeds to 54 knots and cruising at 34 knots. The 228-gallon fuel capacity supports extended offshore range.

The boat is purpose-built for fishing. Twin 390-quart in-deck fishboxes sit aft to port and starboard. The hardtop is outrigger-ready and carries Taco 350 outrigger bases with five rod holders, spreader lights, and an electronics box. A full baitstation with freshwater sink and storage occupies the leaning post, which includes a flip-up cushion and backrest. Non-skid surfaces run across the foredeck, walking flats, gunnel tops, sole, stern platform, and hatch covers.

The console features a gelcoat-finished interior with a sink and battery switch panel, offering six feet of headroom. An oversized forward seat includes storage and two drink holders. Recessed electric trim tabs come standard, with the option for automatic trim tab functionality.

Construction throughout is 100 percent composite. The hull and deck are chemically bonded and mechanically fastened every six inches with stainless steel fasteners around the full 360-degree joint, designed to deliver lasting performance.
